The service trip of a lifetime

The Glow Exchange is a 4-month training program and 10-day service trip that will open up your heart and mind like nothing else. You will reinvigorate the connection you feel to yourself, to others and to the world as you fundraise for women’s leadership.

Share life. We are busy women with busy lives moving in a hundred different directions, and if you feel a call to travel and serve, and create maximum impact, then this is the experience for you. We have created this program as an opportunity for professional women to step away from the ordinary and into extraordinary purpose.

Share connection. Connection is the unique quality that makes The Glow Exchange program one of a kind. We have established an incredibly inspirational community of glow-getters from around the world. The community in Kasaali, Uganda, shows you what Glow means on an entirely new level. As part of The Glow Exchange, you become a part of this amazing family. Through your training, fundraising, and on your trip, you will connect with people from around the world and create friendships that will change your life forever.

The Exchange

Glow Exchangers undergo 4 months of training in leadership, female empowerment, creating sustainable development, and receive valuable support along their fundraising journey. During a 10-day trip to our partner community, Glow Exchangers participate and co-lead a Leadership Forum to expand The Glow Effect Centre’s resources.

After the trip, the community’s sustainable platform for practical education, business creation, and self-expression has grown, and simultaneously, Glow Exchangers build unprecedented leadership skills, engage in a profoundly culture-shocking experience, and fully realize their capacity to change the world.

Questions & Answers

Who should participate in The Glow Exchange program?

The Glow Exchange is for professional women at any level of personal development and/or travel experience who seeks to unite through service, adventure and connection. It is open to all with a desire to engage in physical giving, listening, leadership training, and cultivating the life skills needed for continued personal growth.

Is it safe in the Ugandan community?

The community tremendously values our support and they go to great lengths to assure our comfort and safety.

Do I need to worry about diseases?

As with most of Africa, malaria is a concern. With proper prevention techniques, like medication and mosquito nets, we can protect ourselves against contracting it. We are alway prepared for emergencies, and travel insurance is mandatory. Vaccinations for typhoid are recommended. A Yellow Fever vaccination card is required to enter the country. Please consult with your physician for further information. Ebola is concentrated in West Africa, whereas Uganda (in East Africa) is widely considered to be ‘Ebola free’.

Once accepted into the program, further information regarding vaccinations, travel insurance and entry-visas will be available to you, and if you have further questions already please reach out.

If I want to attend the trip and continue on my travels, is that possible?

Yes, it is possible when you let us know in advance. It is important to note that if you continue your travels, you will not be able to include your travel funds (flights, room & board) as part of your fundraising goals. You must pay for your own flights to Uganda.

Any other questions or concerns, reach out!
